Vision & Purpose

Since 2002, John Smith Kabashi has had an idea to establish a place where you can have unique experiences, and where creative acts can prosper and grow.

After a long period good experiences and inspiring stays in Hollywood, Los Angels, in 2010 Kabashi initiated a process and research for his new vision of establishing a unique arena where experiences and productions are in focus and center of the creation.

Kabashi have great ambitions and wants to establish something that can resemble "Hollywood" in Norway, but with a twist and adapted to Nordic conditions and Norway.

Today, FilmCity Skarnes is born and will be developed into an important city area for national and international producers for film and TV, game and creative industries, not limited to but also experience design, art and culture. FilmCity Skarnes is a collaboration between the private, public sector and educational institutions. This creates a unique and sustainable model.

Analyses for film and TV drama shows a violent global growth from 200 billion USD in 2020, to an expected 400 billion in 2030. While for games it shows a global growth of 505 USD Billion.

FilmCity Skarnes facilitates in line with the film message in the government's film

policy, which wants to "stimulate a film industry that grows out of local involvement

and facilitate strong professional environments", "that the industry has expertise" and

"facilitate international film production in Norway" .

A green and sustainable modell
